I own an historically designated house in Coronado. I asked Flagg Coastal Homes, a Design Build firm that remodeled the house 15 years ago to add an ADU, (Auxiliary Dwelling Unit, commonly referred to as a “granny flat). Flagg’s senior designer, Dorian Lytle designed a stand-alone building and connected it via an enclosed entryway. His innovative design was enthusiastically approved by the Historic Review Commission. Flagg’s experience in both historic remodels and adopting to California’s ADU rules was exceptional.
